
Fantin-Latour, Henri, 1836-1904 · [ca. 1836–1904]
Sheet composed of four sketches of dance subjects. Each of these sketches had 5 or 6 trial proofs, and then they were put together. 1st sketch - a dancer, flying draperies and arms raised. The trial proof of this first sketch is numbered. 2nd sketch - there are three dancers and the middle one is seen from behind. 3rd sketch - a dancer front facing with proportions a little stronger than the others and drapery floating behind her. There is an inscription below, on the left - "Semant des fleurs." 4th sketch - three half-naked dancers. One sits in front and the other two stand. The one standing on the right holds a tambourine.
