Worcester - two escapees from the Worcester state hospital, a Lowell man and his 17-year-old girl companion, were arraigned in district court yesterday and held in $24,000 bail for the grand jury on charges they staged a four-day crime spree of gun-toting, armed robbery and kidnaping. John f. Heaney, 33, of 106 Dalton St., Lowell, who was subdued in Reading a cab driver, was charged with seven counts of armed robbery and one count of carrying a dangerous weapon. Elaine Holmes of Methuen, arrested in Worcester, the Heaney partner, was held on a charge of assault and armed robbery.
