Escapee held in holdup

Philip Hoffman, 24, Medfield State hospital escapee, in custody of police leaving Newton police headquarters, after his arrest in Boylston St. He invaded Duxbury Rd., home of Charles G. Kantar, holding one of family at gun point, escaping with $15, a watch and a brief case full of drug samples. Police say they found weapon in his possession he said he stole from car parked outside Newton restaurant.
