Had Last Crack at Japanese--The guns that the Navy credits with firing the last salvo against the Japanese in the Pacific were removed today from the 23-year-old Cruiser Concord at the Philadelphia Naval Base. The salvo was fired off the Kurile Islands on Aug. 12, 1945. The turret will be preserved for tis historical significance, probably in the Naval Museum near Washington, the Navy said.
