Former Italian beauty contest winner Assunta Maresca Simonetti, 24, received an 18 1/2-year prison sentence in Naples yesterday for the killing of her slain husband's underworld boss. Assunta, known as the "little doll," told the court that she killed Antonio Esposito in a Naples street after he first tried to shoot her. She said: "I killed for love -- and to defend myself." Her husband, Pasquale Simonetti, was killed allegedly on orders of Esposito.
