Feeding Time in Drought Area--Cows eat prickly pear cactus--seared to remove the thorns--on a ranch about 20 miles east of San Angelo, Texas, where President Eisenhower will start his six-state drought area inspection tour. The cactus is a popular source of supplemental feed for livestock. With little growing in the drought area, many ranchers have been giving their livestock supplemental feed the year round instead of just in winter. Drought has cut drastically number of livestock on the range.
