The Federal Music Project of the WPA has made it possible for the "Common people" enjoy a superlative brand of music through their program of concerts at the Parkman bandstand. Two bands participate in these offerings, the Boston Concert band, W.A. Barrington - Sargent conducting, and the Commonwealth Symphonic band under the direction of Alfonso D'Avino.
