Fatal drama in Hollywood parking lot

Edward F. Fisher, 39, holds a knife to the throat of a young woman police said he was trying to kidnap, Ellen Sheldon, 22, from the parking lot of a Hollywood discount store this afternoon as a store security guard, George H. Derby, 32, aims an automatic at Fisher's head. A moment later the guard shot Fisher dead when he refused to release the woman, a stranger to him. Photographer Anthony K. Roberts was in the parking lot, noticed the commotion, and made this picture.
