George Toma, head groundskeeper for the Kansas City Athletics checks over the new center-field fence that is being installed at Municipal stadium 4/9. At its deepest point it will be 411 feet from home plate. The old distance was 421 feet (background).The new fence is five feet high and the hits that made the dent in the background on the old fence will now be homers.
