Bellows, George, 1882-1925 · 1921
The artist's wife and Marjorie Organ (Mrs. Robert Henri). (Bellows) / Emma called it a sofa while George called it a divan. Emma and Marjorie Henri (Robert Henri's wife) appear on this frequently used prop wearing the same clothing and assuming similar poses as in "Elsie, Emma and Marjorie, First Stone" (M. 103) and "Elsie, Emma and Marjorie, Second Stone" (M. 104). The sofa (or divan) is still used at the gallery of H. V. Allison in New York, dealer for the Bellows estate. (Mason)
