George Beaumont, whose wife burned herself to death 10/15 in an apparent protest over the Vietnam War, tells newsmen 10/17 that the act was a "supreme sacrifice...for all mankind." Beaumont's wife, Florence, 56, died on the steps of the Federal Building in Los Angeles after she doused her body with gasoline and ignited herself. She was the mother of two daughters.
