East Lee, Mass. A man-made dam broke Sunday afternoon at Mud Pond dumping more than 20 acres of water in a two mile destructive course, taking with it trees, homes, and cars. The flash flood took one life. Dead is Edward Gage, 60. His home was carried off its foundation and over Route 20, and dumped on the opposite side of the highway. Reported missing is Mrs. Olive Courtinier, 55, who house was also hit and torn apart.
