East Lee, Mass. A huge hole in the dam at Mud Pond was the cause of the flash flood which dumped over 20 acres of water on the community of East Lee, Mass., Sunday afternoon. The flood's path of destruction was over two miles and damaged homes and industries in the village. The flood took the life of Edward Gage, 60, of Route 20. His home was carried off its foundation and over the highway. Reported missing was Mrs. Olive Cordonier, 55, who's house was also torn apart. Exit Two of the Mass. Pike was also under water for a brief period, causing the state police to redirect turnpike traffic to West. Stockbridge.
