Dust -- New Mexico Style. Clayton, N.M. -- Sweeping across farm lands like a gigantic tidal wave, a dust storm rolls into Clayton, burying it beneath a cloud of swirling, wind-blown earth. Storms such as this are frequent in this "dust bowl" community, but seldom, is the approach of a storm so well portrayed as in this photograph, made by an amateur photographer who considered it "nothing unusual".
