Dido sits on a marble bench and leans on the left side, with her right arm folded. A narrow diadem adorns her black, falling hair. Aeneas, kneels before her and is seen almost from behind. On the right, behind Dido, there is building with round columns. On the left, the disk of the moon shines behind heavy foliage. It is deep night except for the whiteness of the moonlight.
