Drouth Retards Corn Growth. This is the best corn the photographer could find in Douglas County, Nebr., Near Omaha. It is on the farm of H. R. Young and had just received its first satisfactory rain of the year a few hours before the picture was taken. Although the stalks are well behind other years, Young said the rain cheered him considerably. In the picture are Janice and Eleanor, the farmer's daughters.
