Crime Syndicate Boss Arranges Bail--Tony Accardo, right, boss of the Chicago crime syndicate, appears at the U.S. Commissioner’s office in Chicago today after his arrest on charges of filing false income tax returns. Accardo was released on $25,000-bond arranged by bondsman Erwin Weiner, left. Accardo was indicted yesterday by a special grand jury investigating organized crime, but it was held secret until his arrest at his 22-room mansion early this morning.
