Courthouse shooting

Houston, tex. -- Carolyn Venters, 28, defendant in an assault-to-murder trial, is wheeled from the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, Tex., left, after being shot while waiting for an elevator in the building. She died in a hospital a short time later. William Johnson, right, has been charged with the shooting. Mrs. Venters was on trial in the June 1971 shooting of Johnson which left him partially paralyzed.
