Deep snow still hampers many farmers in northern Vermont sugar bushes this season. Farmer Hubbard says his team of horses, Peggy (left) and Roxie, enables his "boys" to get around earlier than farmers using tractors to haul the sap tub. Sons are Frank (left) and Calvin, and they collect sap from 1000 buckets while their father boils it in the sugar house.
