Double-Edged Safety. Two-faced steel median barriers have been erected along almost the entire length of the Pennsylvania Turnpike's east-west route (360 miles). Construction of a further 110 miles of barriers on the northeast extension will be finished by summer 1969. The upper photograph shows a stretch pf road near Harrisburg; the lower one shows the assembling of the barriers.
