Death was the reward which Miss Ada Carey, shown above, received for her kindness when she picked up Norman Westberg and Howard Christensen, two hitch-hikers from Chicago, Ill. She was slain when the two attempted to rob her and steal her car. Miss Carey was returning to her home in Blunt, S.D., for the summer vacation after the closing of her school at Frankfort, S.D., where she teaches.
