A daylight recorder so sensitive that it will accurately record light intensities to be found between starlight and direct sunlight, a range of more than a million foot candles or lumens, has been developed in the research laboratory of the General Nobile plans to fly over the North Pole this summer. The giant photo-electric cell at the top is the sensitive eye of the apparatus. The fluctuations in daylight are marked with a varying line on the roll of paper within the meter.
