Cooking on Ice- Great On Hot Days. Here's a new household mystery. The water kettle is shown here boiling over, steam shooting out of the spout, and the kettle is not on a hot stove, but on a Cake Of Ice. Believe it or not, but here it is, and the ice is real. Fred Andrews, shown in the photo, is the originator of this new household hint, and Miss Viola May is the successful cook. Liquified oxygen is the secret. Liquid Oxygen is 312 degrees below zero, and 344 degrees below freezing temperature, hence the ice is intensely hot in comparison, and when the oxygen is placed in the kettle it boils merrily.
