The view, engraved in reveres, was taken from a platform just below the Galata Bridge, and shows Constantinople from the Galata side, looking up the Golden Horn. On the right is a tower from which watch was kept for fires. The most conspicuous building is the Mosque of Suleiman the Great; in the distance to the left is the Mosque of Mohammed II. The front pigeon has been burnished out, and a new one, with the end of its tail open, Inserted at a slightly greater distance from the second bird.
