[ca. 1864–1865]
From "War Memories" catalog: This is an exterior view of a Rebel redoubt on the south bank of the North Anna River. The guns of this redoubt commanded the Chesterfield bridge. The Second Corps crossed the river and captured this redoubt May 23, 1864. The artillery at the embrasure, the shelter tents, the groups of soldiers are all as natural as life.
