Crowning of Mrs. America

Mrs. Frances L. Cloyd of San Diego, Calif., blue-eyed mother of three children, is crowned Mrs. America today by Mayor George S. Smock, 2nd. The twenty-three-year-old winner who acquired her third child only seven weeks ago competed as "Mrs. California." Last year she was entered in the contest as "Mrs. Colorado" and placed fourth. Mrs. Cloyd credited her good looks to her children stating that- "I think a woman should be married before she can qualify as really matured and beautiful."
