Diamond Necklace Given by Napoleon to Empress Marie Louise. F135539. The magnificent Diamond Necklace which Emperor Napoleon I has specially made for Empress Marie Louise, is shortly to be sold by private treaty. The necklace, which is composed of 28 brilliants, 10 briolet diamonds and 9 pendant diamonds, took many years to assemble, and all the leading jewelers in the world were commanded by Napoleon to procure the necessary gems. The Necklace is at present in Paris. It was made by the well known jewelers, Nito and Fils in the year 1811. In all there are about 265 carats of diamonds in the necklace.
