Communist's daughter wins Americanism medal

Vickie Wellman, 14-chose the American flag for the background of this picture today after she learned she would receive an Americanism medal from the Charles A. Learned American Legion Post Auxiliary. Her father, Saul, is under a 4-year and 8-month sentence for conspiring to advocate violent overthrow of the government. He was at one time Michigan Chief of the Communist party. Vickie's brother, David, 16, won similar honors two years ago.
