Vice adm. james calvert, superintendent of the u. s. naval academy, and midshipman dale j. feltes of aurora, ill. assist pretty cheryl putz as she transfers the colors from last year's color co. to this year's winning unit at a rehearsal this morning for tues. afternoon's traditional color parade. the 1st co. commanded by feltes, was named color co. after year-long competition with the other 35 at the academy. as such, feltes had the honor of picking the color girl -- in this case his fiancee -- and the co. has the privilege of carrying the national, navy and brigade colors during all official ceremonies and at parades during the 1972-73 academic year.
