Cleric and wife he is charged with beating

Uniontown, Pa. Above are the Rev. George Elmer Schott, Methodist minister, and his wife, Mrs. Garnet Schott, whose accusations have her cleric husband standing trial in Uniontown for assault with intent to kill. Mrs. Schott accuses her husband with beating her on the head with a small baseball bat, fracturing her skull and sending her to hospital in a critical condition. Testifying on his own behalf yesterday, the Rev. Schott said that he did beat his wife after "she drove me insane by her talk and actions, by her condemnation of the church of god and of ministers."
