Ceylon. The “Cat's eye”, on of Ceylon’s Most Precious Stones. This stone weighs 300 karats and is worth $10,000 without the diamonds which surround it. It is in the Gem Museum and is one of the largest cat’s eyes ever found. It has a brilliant lustre and when carved in convex form, a strange luminous band of yellow light travels across the stone as it is turned. This band of light seems to follow one as it is moves. Conflicting superstitions have arisen because of it. Some natives regard it as the All-seeing Eye that watches over them. While others regard it as an evil eye. Charge will be doubled if credit line is omitted.
