Christine Darby, English girl slain

(Right) Police gather 8/22 to commence a search through a woodland area here for the body of seven-year-old Christine Darby (L), who was kidnapped 8/19 about 50 yards from her home in Wirral, 10 miles south of here. More than 600 police and troops searched the sun-dappled woods with growing fears that a child killer has struck again and left the body in a glade. Police found 8/20 an article of clothing positively identified as Christine's.
