Circulating Sugar Boiler. Note the low number of this invention--patented in 1838--only two years after they started numbering patents. Of special interest to New Englanders, for whom the maple sugar and syrup industry is so important. The invention includes an arrangement of fire grates which insures maximum heating, in combination with a tubular boiler construction for the purpose of presenting the maximum liquid area to the heated surfaces of the boiler.
