Gus Bell, also hit a homer and drove in 3 runs but had to leave for hospital where his wife is expecting a child. Here’s what they did, bottom row, left to right: Wally Post, homer and 3 rbi’s; Don Hoak, a homer, four hits and 4 rbi’s; Back row, left to right: Frankie Robinson, 2 homers and 4 rbi’s; Ed Bailey, a homer and 3 rbi’s; Hal Jeffcoat, a homer and the winning pitcher, and lead off man Johnny Temple, 4 hits, 2 walks, on once through an error and scored 4 runs. Oh yes, Reds won, 22-2.
