From "War Memories" catalog: One morning in October, 1862, our photographer was approached by a cavalry "orderly," with the request: "Can you make a picture of my horse this morning" The photographer accommodated the soldier, and this is the view of one of those very useful soldiers, the cavalry "orderly" or bearer of "dispatches."
