Carrier girl killed

Edith Perchman, a 12-year-old Detroit Free Press carrier, was shot to death early Sunday as she delivered a newspaper to a Highland Park home. Her father, Marvin Perchman, and a sister, who were helping her with the route, witnessed the shooting.
