Captive bride carried to ambulance

Mrs. Lida Caldwell, without shoes, is carried to an ambulance by police who brought her out of the apartment where she was held captive since Saturday night. A former boyfriend, Robert Batch, kidnaped her and held off police, until finally shooting her and himself. He was dead on arrival at the hospital. She is in reasonably good condition, according to a doctor's report.
