Change of Command for White Sox-- Ed Short, left, new general manager of the Chicago White Sox, is congratulated by Hank Greenberg, right, whom he succeeds. A.C. Allyn, center, principal owner of the club, announced the change in a press conference in Chicago today. Short, 42, had been traveling secretary of the club which he joined in 1950. Greenberg took over the general manager's job in June of this year when Bill Veeck resigned because of ill health. Greenberg said he quit for personal reasons.
