Sensitive both to the principles of humanism and to the demand for classical texts, printers participated in the reproduction and distribution of Greek works. They printed both Greek texts, which required special techniques to compile and produce, and vernacular translations. Simon de Colines, the printer of Lefèvre d'Etaples, Greek authors and reformers, is an example of a printer who helped to spread Greek and humanist ideas. The typographical mark seen here is the emblem of this printer.
