Tavla, printed. Mounted on a wooden board. Swahn’s copper engraving is a depiction of an antique mosaic in Palestrina. It is clear from the text around the upper oval part: Lithostroton Praenestinae Primigeniae Etiamnum Superstes, “Mosaic from the temple Fotuna Primigenia in Praeneste, which is still there.” The place was made in 1668 by Agapitus de Bernardinis, who calls himself “citizen and painter in Palestrina” (lower right corner). The text in the upper left corner explains many times what is visible on the plansch. In the upper right corner is a thank you to Barberini who has decided to include this picture in “this work on Latiium,” (huic prasesenti Latii operi).
