The tapestry "Triptych." An original work by Lithuanian textile artist Regina Sipavičiūtė, woven for the 400th anniversary of the Vilnius State V. Kapsukas University. The triptych consists of three rectangular (framed) tapestries of the same format and technique:"Geology""Biology""Geography"Regina Sipavičiūtė was born on January 8, 1942, in Ukmergė, Lithuania. She was a Lithuanian textile artist. From 1959 to 1961, she studied at the S. Žukas Applied Arts College in Kaunas, and in 1967, she graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute. From 1967 to 1971, she worked as a senior researcher at the Museum of History and Ethnography in Vilnius. From 1978 to 1992, she was a designer, and from 1971 to 1978, she managed the Exhibition Fund of the Folk Art Society. From 1992 to 2012, she taught at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, serving as the head of the Textile Department from 1994 to 2002. She was appointed professor in 2007.She created tapestries, appliqués, and textile works that decorated public and private interiors. Notable works include: Indian Summer (1974), Still Life for the City (1975), Geology. Biology. Geography (1979), Art Museum and Its Branches (1985), Grasshopper (1985), The Graceful (1992, in the Seimas I building in Vilnius), Song Festival Flag (1994), A. M. (2001), and For the State of Lithuania (2005, in the Constitutional Court of Lithuania). Using her unique technique, she creates appliqués from painted wool and linen fabrics. Her work stands out with its restrained visual plasticity, multi-layered symbolic motifs, and a striking combination of emotional and rational elements. The works feature a grayish-yellow color palette and precise execution. She also authored the methodological guide Fundamentals of Appliqué (2008).
