Woolen poncho with stripes and other geometric motives

Black woolen poncho, with white lines at the bottom and in the middle. Below the neckline a cross is depicted. On the arms and around the neck there are geometrical motifs. The poncho covers the upper body and is worn by boys and men. During the day, market wares were displayed on it, while at night the cloth was used as a blanket (see Toor photos no. 63 and 103).\Similar ponchos were already worn in pre-Hispanic Mexico.\Formaturability of the poncho, with the ornament in tapestry technique (also incorrectly called gobelin, see Textiellexicon, 1991:97).
