Buses and Buses But None to Ride -- Scores of buses idled by New York's transit strike are parked in a Brooklyn depot yesterday as Transport Workers Union members man picket line in front. Most of the buses and all of the subways in the city have been stopped since New Year's Day by the strike against the city's Transit Authority.

Making Weight -- Lightweight Champion Lauro Salas (above) of Mexico, who will have his title at stake tomorrow night in Chicago Stadium against Jimmy Carter, New York, eats bananas, and pie topped off with a huge container of malted milk (right) in attempt to gain weight for fight. Salas, who is a natural featherweight, will be lucky to reach 131 pounds and Carter expects to come in at the lightweight limit of 135 pounds.
