Brownsville, Texas: Newsmap indicates position of killer Hurricane Inez about 240 miles south southeast of Brownsville 10/9. Hurricane warnings were put into effect for the Brownsville-Port Isabel areas and persons northward to Corpus Christi were warned of gale force winds as the hurricane moved northwest from about five miles per hour.
