At 12 Noon (EDT), Inez's highest winds were down to 100 miles an hour near her center, a sizable drop from the 135-mile-per-hour winds reported at her center earlier in the day. At the same time, Inez was reported to be about 30 miles northwest of Tampico, Mexico, and moving west-southwest at about 5 to 8 miles per hour.
