Bride of four months allegedly beaten by groom

Helen Bowman, a bride of four months, displays the results of a beating she allegedly received from her husband, John. According to police reports, the bridegroom was so enraged at stories she told of her men friends before marriage, that at knifepoint he forced her to walk into a Palm Springs cafe in the nude, supposedly beating her all along the way. She is suffering a broken nose, two black eyes, and numerous bruises. In jail, John Bowman's only comment was "I didn't want to do her harm. I love her."
