Breaks down in court

Jack Turk, 14-year-old "baby sitter" of Forest Hills, New York City, charged with the slaying of a three-year-old girl he was minding, sits in an anteroom in the Queens County Court, May 3, shortly before he broke down in the courtroom while testifying in his own defense. A psychiatrist told the jury trying the boy for first degree murder that at the time he was in a state of panic; a state of marked confusion so that he did not know what he was doing. The "slain" child was Sybil Gurfein.
