Washington, Ind......A baby boy with two heads, four arms and two legs was born to 27-year old Mrs. Cecil Hartley last night after a 90-mile-an-hour dash to Indianapolis county hospital. The day-old boy, shown here in an INP exclusive, was delivered by caesarian section and doctors at the hospital said it would be an "up hill" fight to save him. Doctors said the baby had two spinal columns and two chests, but was normal below the waist. The medical term for such cases, unheard of by anyone at the hospital, is "teratosis". The father, an ordinance worker at the naval ammunition depot in crane, Ind., and mother have five other children. The mother was reported in good condition but the child's condition is still critical.
