Bobby Shantz Talks Contract - Little Bobby Shantz (left) American League's most valuable player, talks over contract problems with Philadelphia Athletics General Manager Arthur Ehlers today. Shantz, A's pitcher who won 24 and lost seven the past season, would not discuss what took place during the hour-long meeting, merely saying- "I didn't sign." Shantz reportedly has been seeking in terms of $30,000 to $35,000 while the A's have been reported as offering him around $20,000.
