Boat Washed Ashore After 24 Lost in Gale The hulk of the sports fishing boat Spray, which capsized off Point Mugu, Cal., Sept. 24, with loss of 24 of the 26 persons aboard, is shown as it was cast up on the storm-swept beach next day. The Spray foundered when a heavy storm swept the coast of Southern California causing a total death toll of at least 35 - and possibly as many as 100, according to some estimates.
